About the project
Nothing was predisposing Tom Volf to become one of the greatest expert on Maria Callas.
Photographer and film maker, he was previously responsible for the digital and audiovisual communication of the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris alongside Jean-Luc Choplin.
He recorded many shows and interviewed internationally-renowned artists who were performing. He also worked on the communications of the OECD and directs the film of its 50th birthday. He is also responsible of the communications and brand image of fashion houses.
It is in New York that Tom stumbles upon Maria Callas and would spend 3 years across the globe to gather exceptional archives, of which many are yet unseen. These archives are the body for the Maria by Callas project: one film, one exhibition, three books as well as a collection of live recordings published in partnership with Warner Classics.
